The application process for a travel authorization consists of fewer formalities in comparison to Canada’s visa application process. Travelers entering Canada under the Electronic Travel Authorization Program are generally allowed to stay for up to 6 months, however, you may have to provide proof of a return ticket and evidence of sufficient funds upon entry.
After successfully applying for an ETA, you will receive your approved travel authorization from us via email. It is vital that you keep a record of your ETA Application Number. In the approval document you will find your ETA Application Number, it is important that you keep record of it for the following:
- To check the status of your ETA Travel Authorization.
- Update your Travel Authorization before each trip to the United States (currently voluntarily but recommended).
After successfully applying for an ETA, you are deemed eligible to travel to Canada under the Electronic Travel Authorization Program. Make sure you record your Application Number and print your authorization document.
